POSSIBLE versus AVOIDED SEXUAL PARTNERS- BLOCKS IN SPECULAR STAGE

Updated: Aug 27, 2022

Situations that mobilize erotic desire for someone from the opposite sex/energy may trigger phobic behaviors that go in an escalation process from: felling uneasy, very embarrassed or even panic, when faced with highly desired and eroticized situations. These people count on:

1) Masturbation, 2) Low eroticized relationships 3) Highly eroticized and desired situations that do not demand being in tune with masculine drive( in men’s case) and being in tune with feminine drive (in women’s case)[1].

Possible Sexual Partner

Thus, Possible Sexual Partners are the ones who do not demand from women being in tune with feminine eroticized energy in desired situations, and from men being in tune with masculine eroticized energy in desired situations.

Avoided Sexual Partner

In heterossexual eroticized situations/ relationships:

Highly eroticized contact with opposite sex partners they are interested in.

In homossexual eroticized situations/relationships:

Highly eroticized contact with partners that demand, from women, intimacy with feminine drive (passive and accepting energy) and, from men, intimacy with masculine drive (active and combative energy).

[1] Until the end of adolescence (16, 18 years old), Sexual Identity is still under construction. It means that sexual orientation or preferences aren’t yet closely defined. It is true that most of the people who do not feel in tune with sex assigned at birth, and are at any point in gender spectrum, feel they “don’t fit” since early years, just as, for the majority of people, sexual orientation isn’t felt like a “choice” (both in hetero or homosexual orientation) Regardless the complexity of issues embraced in the Sexual Identity umbrella, it is worth noting that, during adolescence, sexual energy and experimentation are flatting out. During puberty, exploration of bodies of the same sex is expected without necessarily being concerned with sexual orientation. On the other hand, beyond erotic field, belonging is also crucial. Experiences that put teenagers in evidence or show status regarding social performances (trendy behaviors) will tend to be desired. Sexual and gender identity issues may happen in all of these possibilities and have to be understood in their specificities. A more detailed essay on this matter is coming soon.
