The two premises mentioned previously:1) the difference between sexuality and sexual identity, 2) feminine and masculine drives, which are present since birth, are intertwined and have a role not only in gender development or sexual orientation, but also in combativeness and sensibility development and their balance, throughout life[1]. Rephrasing, masculine and feminine drives might be defined as a complex combination of traits (established in early years- cenesthetical phase) and cultural interaction, which results in a personality ,i.e, someone with specific traits and personal choices. When they are well balanced, the outcome is a person capable of making integrated and creative choices in life. In this essay, I will introduce Sexual Identity theory, starting with the presence of feminine and masculine drives in personalities and sexual identity construal[2]. PA[3] assumes that there are three crucial phases of cenesthetical changes in human development. The first one starts at birth and goes up to 2 and a half years old, give it or take, and it is marked by the development of sensations and proprieties we know as intuition. They are divided into three main groups: feeling, perception and thoughts. The second phase is puberty and the third menopause. They are all intertwined in a way that, in order to understand sexual identity development, it is necessary to comprehend the development of children’s identity. And to understand emotional growth (maturation), one should comprehend not only sexual identity construal, but also the whole process of identity development. According to Bermudez, Dias’ main reference, intuition happens in an intimate correlation with sensations and emotional abilities development. Breastfeeding may be considered both as a complementary relation and as an experience of unity, since, in its absence, the baby doesn’t exist. This first reflex mechanism brings out the first experience of satiety and its emotional correspondent- satisfaction.
